Rémy Martin launches Diwali limited edition XO to honor gathering and renewal

A festive bottling celebrates Diwali’s traditions of togetherness, gifting, and new beginnings.

Garry says:

They put Diwali on a cognac bottle. I put mine in a paper cup at a bus station.

I was reading about this Rémy Martin XO Diwali edition this morning. It’s a limited run, gold-foiled, meant for gifting and lighting candles and pretending your life is in order during the Festival of Lights.

The press release says it’s about gathering, renewal, all that good stuff. Which is fine — I’ve lit diyas in Goa, shared bad chai with monks in Bodh Gaya, and once gave a bottle to a taxi driver in Mumbai who told me my horoscope was wrong. So I get the spirit, even if I missed the memo on the packaging.

Still. A cognac named for Diwali. That’s like naming a vodka after Nowruz or a tequila after Songkran. It works if you’re not from there — and if you don’t mind the irony.
