Sazerac Buys Oregon Craft Brewery Full Sail

Sazerac has acquired Full Sail Brewing, a 40-year-old craft brewery based in Hood River, Oregon.

Garry says:

Another brewery folds into the belly of the beast.

I was reading that Sazerac bought Full Sail Brewing. They’re the folks behind Buffalo Trace, Fireball, and a hundred other labels you’ve seen behind bars that don’t know your name.

Full Sail started in 1987 in a converted apple-packing warehouse. They made good beer — clean, honest, no circus tricks. Their Session Lager was the kind you drink on a porch at dusk, not to get loud, just to feel the day settle.

Now it’s part of a portfolio that stretches from Kentucky bourbon barrels to Irish whiskey blends. No press release says what happens to the brewmaster’s notes, or whether the old copper kettles stay in place. But the logo will still be on the cans — for now.
