I was reading about Suntory confirming a data breach where personal details of around 100,000 people were exposed. It happened through unauthorized access to an external cloud service — not their own servers, not their own firewall, just some vendor they trusted with names, emails, maybe addresses.
No financial data or passwords were involved, they say. Just the usual: who you are, where you live, how you signed up for that Yamazaki newsletter.
Ten years ago, I gave my name to a bar in Chiang Mai for a loyalty stamp. They wrote it on a napkin. Still haven’t seen it online.
